Pulling The Trigger

It is now okay once again for American’s to own guns. Not since the Wild West has Clint Eastwood been safe as a private citizen in carrying a weapon. The Supreme Court affirmed individual’s rights to own guns in its first case dealing with the second amendment, practically since the Constitution was written. As a matter of law it is a good ruling. The Constitution guarantees citizens the right to defend themselves against a tyrannical government. In order to do that it might very well mean fighting the government’s “well- regulated militia.” That is the supremacy of the law, its basis, and frankly the purpose of the entire Constitution. If citizens are threatened by their government, they have the right to overthrow it, by force if necessary, to restore tranquility and justice. In small town America, citizens have been bestowed the right to defend themselves and families with modern weaponry.

In practicality, criminals will get guns too. Then already do and have long threatened the fabric of law-biding American citizen rights. People have the right to walk to the bus station, local grocery store, neighborhood tavern, and local park without being molested by criminals. Unfortunately, some ne’er-do-wells endanger that peace with violent acts, including assaults and homicide. The location of the court case, Washington D.C., offers direct approval to the town’s people to carry guns for defense. The right has now been affirmed to everyone. The playing field just become a little bit more even. Let the criminals of the country, and tyrants of government beware. The people are armed, and like the Supreme Court, ready to pull the trigger should you continue to interfere with life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Freedom after all needs some guarantees. The court affirmed that “magnum force” will do the trick, and it is a constitutional right of each citizen to do so.
